 AIR Avionics acquires
 the antenna production of
 Dolba & Dolba

AIR Avionics (Garrecht Avionik GmbH) has acquired the antenna production of Dolba & Dolba (DOLBA) as part of a company acquisition.

The proven DOLBA antennas for transponders, VHF radio, collision warning systems, ELT and mobile communications will in future be developed, manufactured and supported under the AIR Avionics umbrella. For customers and partners, the products remain available without interruption.

Over many years, Bernd Dolba has shaped how modern composite aircraft transmit and receive. The structure-integrated antennas have been in series production with leading aircraft OEMs for many years; in many modern fibre-composite aircraft, several DOLBA antennas now work at the same time for radio, transponder and traffic detection. Developed in close cooperation with the manufacturers, the portfolio perfectly meets the requirements of modern aircraft: structure-integrated, aerodynamic designs, low weight and freedom from maintenance.

AIR Avionics consistently carries Dolba’s extensive technical know-how forward under its new roof, with its own EASA-approved design (DE.AP.111), production (DE.21G.0173) and maintenance (DE.145.0447).

Our antennas have been developed and optimised over many years – often together with the manufacturers, directly on the aircraft. For me, AIR Avionics taking over this legacy is the best possible solution. The people here fly themselves and understand what matters. That way, what we have built stays in good hands and continues to benefit the aviation community.
Bernd Dolba, Owner, Dolba & Dolba
A good antenna determines whether transponder, radio and collision warning really perform. With the acquisition of DOLBA, we are bringing exactly this expertise in-house – and closing the gap between the device in the panel and the world outside. We are transferring the DOLBA antennas into our certified development and production and making them available to our customers as clearly defined products.
Johannes Garrecht, Managing Director, AIR Avionics

The DOLBA antennas

For customers, access remains familiar: DOLBA antennas will in future be offered through the AIR Avionics sales channel AIR Store (www.air-store.eu); the existing DOLBA dealer network remains in place. At the same time, the new, expanded production capacity at AIR Avionics ensures better availability – with shorter paths from production to the aircraft. The transfer of the products into the AIR Avionics production system has begun; the antennas remain available throughout the transition period.
